Beautiful Sis! We are excellence. Looting and violence are distractions from the messaging. White people will find a way to recenter Whiteness, and we cannot allow that to happen, not in this moment. We must stand firm, tell our stories, protect our bodies and minds, and fight. We have the attention of the world right now, we must not allow this moment to pass without making change. Our ancestors did it for us. It’s our turn to move the dial for our children and grandchildren.
I am Black, and I am proud. Black women ROCK!!!!!!!!!! I am so thankful to be included in a tribe of so many beautiful, wonderful, talented women, men, and children. We give so much and receive so little in return, yet we keep giving…not because we expect something in return, but because it’s the right thing to do.
We are the world’s moral compass, a compass that it refuses to let guide it.
And so we are here, in this moment, in this place, at this appointed time, for this season, to right the ship — if the world allows us to.
And so we shall. The world can’t survive without us, that’s why they hate us. They need us and they hate us because of it.
We shall survive and thrive Sis, but we will be the same, and we will never see White people the same. When you see the truth, you cannot unsee it. I hope we as a people never get so complacent, so comfortable, or so engulfed in colonialism again. We must decolonize our minds and let somethings go, and accept that there are many of us who won’t be going on the journey with us.
In the same way Harriet Tubman couldn’t free all the slaves because they couldn’t see anything outside of slavery, we won’t be able to convince all of us how bad White Supremacy is for the collective. Let us not feel guilty about the ones we hate to leave behind, but be proud about the ones we are able to save from this burning house.
We are indeed excellence, in everything we do. The world needs us. They. NEED. Us.
Thank you so much for reminding me of the light we are. I’ve been sad and angry all week. I’m worried about my sons, my male friends, my brother, and my father. We are our brother’s keeper. We are all we got!
Love ya Sis! Be safe. Please be safe.
