Black men have a different issue with Kamala, which I totally understand. How can any Black person choose a career field and stay in a career field meant to harm Black people? You can’t expect to be respected. Black men have been the brunt of the victims of criminal justice systems injustices. From wrongful convictions, letting cops off the hook, unequal sentencing, racist judges etc.
Just like I say there are no good cops, there are no good prosecutors either. Working in the criminal justice system is just like racism. Someone somewhere was hurt by your actions for just being a party to it.
It doesn’t matter if you’re good (or you believe you’re good) if you see something and don’t say something, you’re wrong.
That was my entire problem with Harris. She was never my choice as a candidate. I had no choice except to vote for her. Black people have a different conundrum when it comes to Blacks who work in criminal justice. Harris is the liberal version of Daniel Cameron in KY. When I reviewed Harris I gave her two thumbs down because of her career in justice. My views on history and what got her to the top hasn’t changed.
The only way Black people can make it to the top is to hurt Black people just like White people do. Never forget that. Additionally there was an issue with her race and being a woman that many Black men take issue with. She was just a problematic choice for a variety of reasons for different segments of Black people. We are not a monolith. No group is, but the thing we can mostly agree on is that her career in the justice system was a deal breaker for many Black men. Of all the choices, to choose it and stay for as long as she did, it’s a problem. One she must live with, just like Biden.
