Black people in America have not been together since slavery. You make excellent points, and I agree 100% with your perspective. Our own divisions and inability to get along to further any particular cause makes other ethnic groups not want to help us. Every group, and I do mean every group sticks together except African Americans/Blacks. Kenyan doctors come here from Kenya and find a Kenyan community and that community lifts them up. Cubans do it. Germans do it, and Jews definitely do it. Puerto Ricans do it, Mexicans do it, and Indians do it. Asians do it…Haitians do it….
White people do it. Everybody, and I mean everybody can get along except our people. They will work together collectively, support each other collectively, and stand together even when they are wrong collectively.
Black folks can’t even do business with each other without Black folks trying to pay each other less than we are worth. We don’t even value each other! Your words speaks volumes.
When I see Black camaraderie and Black rallying the wagons, I’m so happy because it’s so rare. We got issues…it’s deep…it’s public…and everybody knows it. As a fundraiser, it’s quite embarrassing to approach White donors for Black issues. They always ask why don’t I approach our own people, and why don’t we support each other/our own?
There is nothing I can say, because we put our business out on front street all the time like ignorant little dysfunctional children. I don’t know what it’s about, but we need to figure this shit out. Everybody else is busy preparing for Black and Brown together Armageddon except us. We are competing with each other individually, while other ethnic groups are competing against the world and other ethnic groups collectively. We need to bridge Black culture, or fade into uselessness.
