Congratulations. My partner was adopted in New York and all she has are some sketch papers from her orphanage with few details. She had siblings that were split up. Reading those few notes from the orphanage was the saddest thing I’d ever seen. How does one come to terms with knowing so little about yourself?
It wasn’t even my life and I wasn’t satisfied. She’s 50 now and moved away from NY years ago. I’m positive she knows nothing about the passing of this legislation. Thanks to your story, now I can share it with her. Thank you for you advocacy, and thank you for taking the time to write this essay. There are people all over the world who don’t know about this.
Now they do. So I thank you. Best wishes on the life changing journey you’re about to embark on.
