Congratulations on your sobriety. I had a similar experience with my dad. It’s something about losing everything that just sent him over the edge. In recovery we learned addiction runs in our family, and his father was an alcoholic. It was a very long road of rehabs and detox centers, fights, and lots of money going back and forth to get him straight but he made it. It’s very hard but he’s much better. Learning the triggers and staying away from stress are keys to successful sobriety. Best wishes on your journey, and thanks so much for sharing your struggles. There are many of us living with vices.
