Excellent piece. I say this all the time. There is strength in numbers. If marginalized groups stop playing into all the hype about being enemies with one another, and rally together to fight oppression, disenfranchisement, and abuses of power we’d be a lot better off. Education is the key to protections, and with the LGBTQ community our youth are often forced out of school due to bullying. We lose leaders because they aren’t able to be properly educated.

Education is the equal opportunity maker. And not just public education either. Education on how our government works, how systems work, our laws and rights, and basic life-skills are priceless assets that can’t be taken away. Nor can they be taken for granted, but only if all marginalized and oppressed groups get on the same page.

It’s by design, which is also revealed via a formal education. Thank you for making sharing this important message.
