Great post. It’s not just children in need, but the elderly. There is no sincere help long term anywhere for the average person without wealth. My heart goes out to you. I am experiencing the same thing with my mother. It’s hard as hell. She has a gun. I’ve done all I can. I’m just waiting on the call that something bad has happened. It’s inevitable. Sadly, I have made my peace with it. I have done all I can do within my power. My mom refuses treatment. They won’t treat her schizophrenia bipolar disorder and dementia over objection. The courts won’t allow us to place her. She’s destroyed her home.
There are no more options. I’m exhausted. I understand your frustration. Thank you for helping to explain mental illness to those with no clue about our difficulties securing quality long-term care.
