Hi Chris,

Thanks for understanding the thought and adding value to the discussion. I think it is essential that White people, in particular White men engage in these conversations.

As it relates to the military, I have come from a long line of family members who have served a nation who hasn’t served them well. My sister has been in for 23 years. My brother was a Desert Storm Veteran and my step dad was Vietnam Veteran and Desert Storm Veteran. Many of my male cousins served this racist nation in our racist military.

America’s military has a long, racist history just like the rest of America’s systems and structures. Black people have fought for White freedom for decades now. It’s past time White people acknowledge the sacrifices Blacks and people of color have made to preserve White Supremacy. It’s a never ending relationship where we give and Whites take. Where the freest among us pretend to be oppressed.

Freedom needs to be examined.White people should understand if it were not for others, they’d never be able to be free.

I write intelligent, unvarnished thoughts on anti-Blackness, racism, politics, Black people, and White Supremacy. White Fragility🚫| www.ko-fi.com/marleyk
