I agree. I think fashion has made a big deal about what is beautiful (and who is deemed beautiful) so it makes many of us feel uncomfortable in the nude because we don’t conform to mainstream beauty standards. You can’t get old. Can’t have a pot belly. We can’t go gray. We have different breast sizes and features based on size, ethnicity, age, etc. Women have babies and we have stretch marks. People get married or cohabitate and gain a few extra pounds. There are lots of reasons to not feel good about being nude, but faulty beauty standards (and porn) makes it impossible to be comfortable.

If people didn’t make such a huge deal about personal appearances, there would be no issues with nudity. It’s a huge deal, and without knowing whether a person is going to be judgemental, it’s not reasonable to ask people to take such risks.
