So as Virginia Governor Ralph Northam reaches to find excuses for us to excuse his performative whiteness and constitutionally privilege him by simply accepting it and move on (this must explain the hooded KKK figure in his yearbook), I find it ludicrous that we can’t really talk about it and see it for what it is.
I am so tired of all the excuses and refusal to move on. They always get time to worry about their future. Always asking for forgiveness. Always deflecting and projecting making their issue ours. Always failing to see how they are our issue.
We can’t live, can’t breathe, can’t work, can’t eat, and can’t die in peace. A medical doctor took his first opportunity to show himself to the world for the first time in Black face or a Klansman. The currency of Whiteness is priceless.
