I don’t think it matters if some see the pain. They simply do not care. They are either willfully ignorant because they’d have to confront their white fragility and white supremacy or they are terrified of being called out for a lifetime of coddling and privilege. Not looking keeps them from coping with the facts.
We are sub-human to them. We always have been. The fact that 400 years have gone by and there is little discussion of the pain and no plan to remedy our pain and suffering says more about them than it does us.
I am going to continue to talk about the emotional toll of racism, bigotry, White Supremacy and the frequency of racist acts.
