I like the term freedom fighter as well, because their is action associated with it. You’re literally fighting for freedom. An ally is a much more casual relationship, allowing folks to check in or check out at their leisure, and has no action associated with it. All you have to do is say you’re a friend and post a few hashtags, hold signs, march once or twice, then go home to their lattes, liberal Twitter and progressive Twitter in gated, lily white communities.
