I love your honest reflection and perspectives about being an immigrant in America. Usually you get all the good stuff, but rarely are people honest about the struggles. As a grant writer I read a lot of stories about how difficult transitioning is because America requires you to forsake all you know and pledge allegiance to Whiteness. Most people can’t fathom this and it’s deeply conflicting. I appreciate your willingness to share with those of us who are so ignorant about what being an American is like to immigrants. We assume people are happy and have no regrets, we have no clue. So thanks for the refreshing take on immigrant life.
