I loved and agreed with this entire essay except this part. It’s not up to us to help white people eradicate racism and racial tensions. White people created these races, tensions, classes, and systems, to include White washing how horrible the institution of slavery was. They (Whites) need to destroy racism, racial tensions, and Black inequity in America’s institutions and systems.
We wouldn’t ask a rape victim to help her convicted rapist to help him stop raping. We wouldn’t ask the family’s of people killed by serial killers to teach serial killers to stop killing. Those monsters were made well before they ever met their first victim.
We wouldn’t ask the victim of a theft to help replace the items the thief stole from them either.
Asking black people to help white people eradicate racial tensions and racism is asking victims of crimes past and present to help the perpetrators. We can’t fix what you didn’t create. We can’t help people who don’t want to be helped. And we shouldn’t have the burden or stress of helping White people. This is a walk of shame and a work in progress they need to do alone.
I’ve tried. It’s impossible. It takes a lifetime to get them to understand. And even when they do understand, they never seem to fix themselves. White people need to eradicate all of our problems, remove all of our obstacles and barriers, and offer reparations and reconciliation for their sins.
They don’t need help. They need to do it all alone. They did it by themselves. Undo it the same way. By themselves.
