I really enjoyed this and I feel the same way. It’s one of the reasons I stopped believing. The Bible is a very practical piece of art work. And it’s a moral physical code of conduct manual so to speak. It teaches us a lot, but it also talks about many subjects with a little bias/anger (i.e. homosexuality). In any event like you, I wonder why God does not intervene more? Why does he allow so much suffering? How does allow us to exploited and ruled by tyrants? If he is our father, where is he?

I loved this essay and it expresses the sentiments for those of us who find it hard to understand why religion has gotten into bed with the tax collector Jesus disliked so much.
