I think all of us who are astute in American politics understand this moment. We feel the exact same way you do. I got my ballot last week and I just sat it on the dresser. Over half the people on it aren’t in the race anymore. As you’ve said, there is no perfect candidate, but I never in my wildest dreams expected the field to be so bad, so racistly, and so White in 2020.

There is literally no one I want to vote for on my ballot out of almost 20 people. I feel like the Democratic Party is asking minorities to wait again. They are saying get to the back of the bus again. Drink from the coloreds only water fountains again. Move off the sidewalks for them.

It’s not fair.

I’m tired of waiting on progress and change. I’m tired of waiting on White people to get it. I’m tired of White people always coming first. I’m tired of them manipulating POCs with White magic voodoo powder and I’m tired of them buying it. I’m tired of White people asking us (Blacks and Hispanic/Latinx) to sacrifice ourselves because they are too selfish, too ignorant, too greedy, to hateful, to short-sighted for our collective good.

I’m just tired brother. Just tired.

I write intelligent, unvarnished thoughts on anti-Blackness, racism, politics, Black people, and White Supremacy. White Fragility🚫| www.ko-fi.com/marleyk
