I’m SO thankful for being born and raised in the South. It never escapes me where I am. The Whiteness in the South never allows you to. It’s why I’m never surprised or fooled by the politics and business of Whiteness. It’s nothing to laugh at. Surely not anything to be apathetic about. Living like this is like living in a jail with no walls. At anytime any White person can be your warden or correction officer, including a White child. You never get paroled.
