It unfortunately reinforced the notion that Black women are strong. It gives the appearance we are able to withstand abuse. It tells the world we can take threats and misbehaving from men, as if we are meant to- as if we were built to. It’s a terrible display for prime time television.

Yet another example of the truism everybody that looks like us ain’t riding for us! Gail didn’t think about the harm she was doing to everyday victims of child sexual abuse and Black female stereotypes.
