I feel fortunate and blessed compared to you. I have work papers, I don’t have your youth that makes me look like a good catch these days.
My experiences says “She costs too much money” leaving me flailing in an over-saturated job market. In addition to you being held up by the paper work lag, you now have to worry about the economic downturn on the horizon. The housing market is already starting to slow down, large corporate employers are forecasting lower than expected profits for the first quarter of the year, and many corporate employers are starting to lay off workers which means it won’t be long before we have an economic downturn if not another financial crisis like 2018.
Your attitude is absolutely on point. Be a creative, learn ways to hustle. Work at it like there is no job available for you here, and be flexible as none of can predict what tomorrow will bring.
This all is unprecedented, and we are living in some strange times my new friend. You should pay close attention, understanding there is nothing you can do about any of it. Knowing what’s going on is half the battle. You can prepare better that way. It’s nice to be young because sometimes you realize how much you should be alarmed.
I’m almost 50, and there are things happening in America I’ve never seen before. Ever! Use your talents to make it through this rough patch. That’s what I’m going to do. Hopefully, we’ll all make it to the other side of this storm with little damage.
I’m wishing you the best my new friend. And let me be the first to apologize for the way America has treated it’s immigrants. It’s no way to treat guest in our home. I’m so embarrassed, but please know all of America isn’t this way. It’s a small, controlling faction fighting the last stand in the civil war. Study the Civil Rights Era in America. It will give you a good idea of what’s happening today. Nothing new under the sun. It’s a different group of people, different day, same struggles.
