So basically we’re playing a semantics game with people. Don’t say what it really is so not to offend. I think the biggest problem we have is that the minority has been silenced and ignored for so long by the majority — the majority feels overwhelmed. A few minority voices not willing to go along for the sake of going along because they understand their 5 minutes will be up soon, so they’ve decided to speak their truths. These truths are often not seen by the majority — because they are the majority and maintained all the power.

It doesn’t really matter what you want to call it, or if it’s politically correct for a particular “party.” People living in their respective communities know what they feel, what they see, what they lack, and what they experience and it’s not going to sound the same from one corner of this nation to the other. What we need to stop stifling peoples’ truth for the sake of political parties that don’t give one crap about us — all each one of those people care about is the power they posses which is why they stay in office so long.

I write intelligent, unvarnished thoughts on anti-Blackness, racism, politics, Black people, and White Supremacy. |
