I have spent the past few years trying to move past that awful vote and the sour feelings I have in my stomach not only against white women, but the whole Trump voting population. At the end of the day, we all still have to live with each other. The bitterness and sense of betr…
Spoken like a real truth teller.
Haven’t we all felt this way sister. I think decent, sane Black non-Trump supporter feels the same way. I’m also conflicted with the Spanish vote that seems to get little to no discussion. A large number of Hispanic voters went for Trump, particularly Cubans and second generation Hispanic immigrants. They have been propagandized believing they are better than Blacks, because they do the things we no longer do with no concept of America’s real history with slavery and race relations. As long as they make money for White Trump voters…that’s all that matters. What puzzles me is no matter how Trump and his supporters berate Spanish populations, they still vote with the GOP as if some magical brush painted them White and the racism is for other Brown lower class people, not them.
I expect White women to do what they’ve always done. But brown people trying to distance themselves from Blacks is an interesting thing here. But I disagree with the motivation of Why white women vote the way they do. It’s rooted in Whiteness and White privilege. A privilege tied to a power Blacks have never possessed in America. I love Obama, but whiteness stopped him from having power. At the root of Whiteness, there is racism and I’m tired of always forgiving and regretting it later down the road. How they harm continues to go unchecked. I refuse to carry anymore of their bags. It’s killing us…meanwhile, they just go and pick a new White man to lead them.
I feel betrayed by a lot of people.
