Thank you for sharing you story. It was funny, sad, and upsetting all at the same time, but that’s life. People are complicated. I can’t believe how many people harbor hate for people for so long they allow it to destroy their relationships with family. Your grandma sounded like a bully. I’m sorry your wife didn’t have the love and support, but at least your wife knew she wasn’t accepted and could make peace with that. It’s bad to find out people really don’t like you later.

Like you, I shed no tears and her funeral was not sad at all. We all were relived when it was over. The length of her funeral was about the length of time I spent around her every few years when forced. Felt like old times, except I knew it was the last time I would see here, which was fine by me.
