Thank you Mr. Herbert for the education. I’ve never hear this before (about Dr. Jefferies), but wow it makes so much sense. A few other readers have noted the same theory you cite which cracks me. I love our elders because they have left so many bread crumbs and nuggets. We were misled, bamboozled, and led astray. I regret all the time I’ve donated my skills and talents to White America instead of building up my own folks. I’m going to spend the rest of my days (if possible) helping free us and making us self-sufficient.
The story about Dr. Jefferies reminds me of President Obama’s former pastor. When there are White folks involved, look for Black folks to be thrown under a bus. Sometimes, we help push our folks in front of that bus. My eyes have really been opened in 2020, not that I didn’t already know, but this year its clear.
Oh so clear. I thankfully can move freely, but I know this isn’t the case for everyone. So I’ve been thinking about ways we all can become more independent. I’ll ponder more, and think about the sacrifices our elders and ancestors have made for sharing “unvarnished truths.”
I’d love to hear what he thought about this period we live in. He’d probably say what my dad says… “they ain’t gone never change.” He’s said that all my life. He’s never been wrong.
Looking Crazy in Florida wondering who voted for Trump (lol).
