Thank you Sherry Kappel, you are really talking good here. It’s a shame how we have allowed our need to win consume us so we are willing to cheat our children out of experiencing the priceless life lessons of hard work, coming up short, and the effort it really takes to become exceptional.
I just can’t even contain myself anymore when a kid talks about awards. I developed a new line…”Why are they awarding regular?” Trust me, nobody comes gloat to me about awards unless it’s really something exceptional. I also decline awards banquets. They waste my time.
I love me some teacher appreciation though. If were not for a teacher, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I had good ones and I’m so thankful. Thank you and your hubby for your sacrifices. And don’t y’all feel compelled to give out constellation prizes or mediocrity and normal. I’m counting on you lol. Make awards for the exceptional again!!!
