Thank you so much Kayla for sharing your story and some of your experiences in on the subtle ways racism creeps into our daily lives. White people have vilified Black culture forever, then they turn around and profit from it. For example, if hip-hop and rap was so bad, why did White men sell it and profit from it? They run all the major labels. White people said the same thing about rock n roll and the blues, all which have roots in Black culture.

Decolonize your mind and ask questions about everything. Once you unsee racism and how it has kept you from living a life full of color and culture, you're going to be angry. You'll never be the same. Stay strong Sis. It's a long journey, it will be painful, it won't be easy, and at times it may even be lonely, but at least you will be seeing the world the way it really is instead of via the fearful, oppressive eyes of White Supremacy.
