Thank you so much Paula. Your kind of allyship is what America is in dire need of. Sometimes I’m conflicted on whether we need more strong allies like you to keep White people from harming us, or if we’d be better served by having strong, socially-aware humanists as yourself help us by teaching racist and biased White people, the errors of their ways. It sounds like you had a natural ability at an early age to know right from wrong. I’m sure you’ve missed on many lucrative opportunities to do what’s right for the sake of aiding the poor and Blacks in your area of expertise and even as a volunteer.
Soon there will be a new racial majority in America and it won’t be Black people. They taught them everything they know to stay in power. It’s going to be interesting to see how this hashes out. I worry about White people, even liberal ones not being able to see the forest for the trees. When we all do well, we all do well as a nation. There is no good in hoarding anything, exclusion, discrimination, or gatekeeping. I know there are good people out there like you working on our behalf, but it’s so few of you. By the time you fix one thing our help one person, White people have harmed 50 more in some way, shape or form.
I’m really trying to have hope, but this election season in conjunction with a Trump presidency has really shown me how far we haven’t come in America. I wish the apathetic White people would wake up before it’s too late. If the stars align right come this November, it will be. If America fails, those White people have themselves to blame. Greed, racism, ignorance, inequality, haughty spirits, and a disrespect for humanity by our national majority since they slaughtered the natives will be the blame. America has never repented or paid for all their lies and sins.
Sometimes, the good must suffer with the bad so that the universe can work that thing out. I feel as though this is one of those times. I hope we can survive it.
