Thanks for commenting G.A.Cameron. I understand what you mean. We spend a lot of time accommodating White feelings. We’re just tired. We’re still carrying burdens from slavery. White people still expect us to be kind to them, an expectation leftover from slavery, the antebellum period, and we’re just tired. They have been horrible to us, including asking us to carry their burdens and ours. It’s why we die earlier. It’s the reason we have high blood pressure.
It’s really bad and I’m sorry it’s that way too. I’m glad people are starting to understand the loads we’ve been carry to preserve White people. It’s a start, but this is a lifetime work, and most White people aren’t ready or willing to invest the time or energy necessary in doing work to decolonize their minds. I’m realistic. It’s a start though.
