Thanks Sam. Can you imagine being on the end of all of the racial insults? It was jaw dropping when it was happening. I just wished I had recorded it.

I was so angry because after being educated, dressing nice, talking “right” (using my proper King’s English); saying “Please” and “Thank You;” being polite in spite of; volunteering; engaging in community-building; making and keeping White friends; leaving more than 20 percent tips when dining out to avoid being labeled as a “cheap black;” keeping my hair “orderly;”attending a multicultural church; voting for White politicians; payin my taxes; trying my best to smile extra and not have the angry Black woman resting bitch face; and all the other things society says would qualify me as a good Black woman….

and I’m still a nigger. Who’d a thunk it?
