I believe that as a society we have created unrealistic expectations about a lot of things. We are supposed to be able to have the perfect body, drop out of college to create something out of nothing that makes us billionaires, find our soul-mates with whom we live in blissful passion, and never get old or infirm. Like the opiate epidemic, these are all fueled by unsustainable fantasies of unbridled pleasure.
