… has grown. Income inequality is reaching levels not seen since the run-up to the Great Depression. If we don’t recalibrate, the implosion of the American middle class will take down the whole economy. Old and emerging labor-rights movements will be at the center of this battle.
This has already happened in rural America. They have been left behind for 25 years, and have seen what many are finally just waking up to realize, the middle-class has been decimated for years. There has been a silent movement by our elected officials for nearly 50 years which consists of two classes (1) The rich, well-connected and educated (as a combo), and (2) the poor, working class, and un/under-educated , non-unionized, systemically disconnected, and purposely segregated “other-folk.”
No one is immune, especially if you’re in the middle class right now. It’s simply a matter of time before good old “capitalism” comes knocking on your door. You wanna see what America will look like in 25–30 years, go ride through any rural town that used to be a vibrant manufacturing community. Trade acts are not respecters of persons. They only respect those in power and businesses. If it doesn’t make them dollars, it doesn’t make sense. Americans are being punished, and some of them keep voting for the same people who created the very trade acts that have taken away our ability to take care of ourselves.
People don’t care…until trouble knocks on their own doors. I’m not sure why it takes so many of us so long to see the light. If you aren’t preppping to live like a pauper (even if it’s temporarily), you should be. And we should be teaching our children in the event it doesn’t happen in our lifetime. Just because we may see it coming, it may not happen on our watch! Be ye ready at all times!
