This is the most important piece of the question. The owner caused the problem by infringing upon a Black man’s right and freedom to protest, but those troubled protestors need to do something “for them” in order for them to help fix the problem they created in the first place. On top of that, those owners will only help us help them if we can do something that creates positive results for them. This proves the only people in America who truly have free speech are White men. Period.
Everything about this is the epitome of White Supremacy and the sneaky, low-lifed underbelly of capitalism. You can’t engage in it without exploiting others. Nothing is going to come from this. Jay-Z traded his Black skin for a White Klan outfit. He’s an official Black Klansmen. He didn’t become a billionaire from being a nice thoughtful guy.
The most thoughtful, considerate people are those who work to help others. Teachers, social workers, nurses and CNAs, and caregivers. The jobs that pay the least but give the most. Football isn’t going to do anything for Black people. Your depiction of how Black folks groom their kids for sports early in life to play in for nearly 20 years for free, while being berated, treated like slaves on an auction block, shopping them around for the best deal. We left the plantations, but we are still slaves. Sometimes we enslave ourselves.
My sons played sports but for a totally different reason. I needed to keep them out of the streets and out of trouble. It worked. I’m so glad they got tired of it. I was sick of it too by the final years of high school. The older they got, the more they started seeing the racism and favoritism by the coaches, and how cut-throat the business is. I didn’t want my sons being used in college, certainly wasn’t going for a White man berating them for playing a fucking game poorly on the sidelines.
I wish all professional sports would be banished. No one should be getting paid to play games when there are so many other pressing things in life that need to be attended to. The fact that rich people can pimp poor people into working hard for a snowball’s chance in hell to maybe play a professional sport is something. Slavery never went away, it simply evolved. Our bodies are free, but our minds are still in slavery.
