This is what greek life is all about. I’s a few years of submitting yourself to corruption and abuse (as the abuser or being abused) for a lifetime of privilege (or close to it. It’s the promise of a leg up. It’s the hope of accruing privilege. Greek life encapsulates capitalism perfectly. You take away opportunities from others who may be more qualified. You use and abuse people to get to the top. Your new found privilege (being in the greek org) gets you the benefit of the best jobs and careers all because you’re associated with the organization of privilege. Chasing the American dream — that’s capitalism.

It’s also White privilege…sadly Black people in America practice this model of privilege too. When I was practicing Christianity, it was a direct conflict with religion, yet people found away to make the two work…which threw me for another loop lol.

Power or the promise of power corrupts the mind. Greek orgs are a classic example.
