This is what my piece is about, the overblown reactions by feminists. I get that feminists wanna let the world know how unfair the system is. Get in line with Black folks looking for justice for any number of offenses committed against our beings. I’m not trying to do the oppression Olympics with feminists. The venom that came at the announcement of Bryant’s death was wrong and misplaced. Drive by vigilante justice isn’t the same as justice in a court of law. The overblown reaction stands out like a soar thumb.
I wish feminists would rage about inequality. Racism. The pay differences in the workplace between White women and Black ones. When our girls get missing? When women of color are brutalized by the police. The faux outrage about things they can’t control is so expected, so extra. So useless.
As for your statement about protecting men, what’s wrong with it? Too often we make the monsters we hate. I’m a woman, and I have sons so yes, I care about men. Even bad ones. I noted I wasn’t giving them a pass, just sharing how difficult it is when we’re forced to ignore the good these men have done for others.
People aren’t perfect. I used men as an example for this piece, but I could do the same with women, feminists, and lesbians. People are flawed. Life is complex. There is no “right" point of view. We all have a right to love, hate, legitimize, or delegitimize whomever we choose.
At the end of the day, I have a right to tell someone their daddy isn’t shit or tell a wife their husband is a rapist (even when he wasn’t convicted of being one), but should I? Is it any of my business? No and no. Am I injured by his being personally? No again.
What is the value in bashing the dead man (Bryant)? Are feminists going to get some new legislation on the books with it? Change a criminal justice system or judicial circuit? Reduce rapes anywhere? Run for office so more females are prosecutors? Is bashing Bryant going to get more women detectives on the police force? No.
Wanna know what these women are doing by injuring with their unnecessary words? Being ugly. Period.
Hurt people hurt people and they want someone to hurt because their hurt and haven’t healed yet. I get it. I’m not engaging in that, nor am I condoning it.
