This story was a rollercoaster of emotions but I enjoyed it immensely. I just want to say with gratitude thank you for getting it. Thank you for protecting your daughter, because so many Black women have no one standing in the gaps for us. Thank you for being open and honest, sharing your learning curves. I don’t think White people understand all that we endure to just exist in this White world. And thank you for adopting a Black child. There are so many Black children in foster care who will never be adopted because nobody wants Black kids.
Being Black is a full-time job in addition to your regular 9–5 gig. This story gave me joy and hope. I just hate it take people so long to get it. Better late than never.
