We have always been in peril because we’ve never had a democracy. A democracy requires people have the freedom to make choices on what happens to your communities and decide how your government governs over you.. Since America has never given all citizens that privilege equally, consistently, and without threat or duress, it’s impossible to claim we have a democracy. We need to learn what we do have in the way of governance and stop quoting the lies they tell to us.
