Well I can’t thank you enough for sharing the issue from a man’s perspective. I am a pretty patient and understanding person when it comes to people and our flaws. Me and this guy had a long history so he could confide in each other about sex. The root of the problem was the Crux of your essay, we don’t honestly communicate enough about sex, especially African Americans. I was the chick in the barbershop engaging in condom use, STDs, and HIV. I have 3 adult sons (no girls). Sex was always a topic in my house. They thought I was hilarious back in the day. Dialogue helps and I appreciate young Black men writing about sex intelligently, thoughtfully, and helpfully. It matters.
