What an awesome story. I never heard of the Unmistakable Creative, so you taught me something. It’s nice to meet people who pour into your life, especially when you’re feeling empty and worthless.
Writing can be very isolating (I have been self-employed and working from home for 12–13 years). As I’ve aged I’ve become an introvert. I would love to meet you. I love hearing about your life and stories from the immigrant perspective. So many of us are so naive about what immigrants go through to get here (and to stay here). I couldn’t imagine going some where and starting over, meeting new people, dealing with not being able to work, etc. It’s so dehumanizing.
If you’re ever in the Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, FL area — please let me know. I’d love to meet you and your family. I feel honored to be in the number of people interesting enough to be on your list. My mind races with ideas, but I often talk myself off the ledge. My creativity has suffered over the past few years, but I’m finally feeling strong enough to do more. I’m happy you had the honor of meeting someone so instrumental to your creativity. People love the arts, but they do a terrible job of encouraging us. We must stay close, rally one another, and help each other along this long road called life.
If I’m ever in your neck of the woods, I’ll be certain to let you know. I don’t meet strangers, I make new friends!
