Whew! This hit me like a ton of bricks. Sad to say everything lesson you taught I've given not just to my sons, but their friends too. Just talked to my son tonight about the stressors of working in White workplaces while Black. White people couldn't last one week in our shoes. Being Black is literally exhausting, with no where to go, no rest for the weary, just more trouble.
I'm glad you shared this. Dispel the Black man slander. We do so much to make White people comfortable. The lesson on making yourself smaller to make White women comfortable, just took my heart away.
I'm so tired of thinking about White people. So tired.
