Wow. That’s a huge difference. I had no clue. I just can’t see any difference. I can’t control what readers read or how long they decide to spend reading an essay. We can’t even make some finish our long pieces. Only half the readers who open my essays read them to the end. So long pieces aren’t a solution either. At the end of the day readers have the power and thats how Medium wants it I suppose. We all pay, they win.

Even how work is distributed is weird now.
