Yaaaaaaaaassssss! It amazes me how some White people love to say I don’t see color, we are all equal, when they have more money, generational wealth, better schools, run all the shit…and then expect us to be grateful they look at us as equal.
A look can’t pay my light bill. Looks don’t leave my sons and grandsons general wealth or a head start in life. Illusions of equality don’t protect me when I find myself interacting with police I’m not training, or the White lady in the parking lot clutching her purse on her way to her Benz Coup.
America is (or was) exceptional to you if were born of privilege. If you are Black or Native American, old Merica ain’t never been good! I got mad Black gratitude, we struggle despite all odds, obstacles, and discrimination…but we keep finding a way to smile. I love my people!
