Yaaaaaaaas! I love this! I used to work with at-risk youth in high school and I was always able to connect because of my past time in foster care. Some kids could never receive anything a man had to say. They didn’t have fathers or men in their lives, and when they did the relationships weren’t really positive. Sometimes the only people speaking to them at all are women.
I shared that with a coach who had a tough love approach to dealing with kids of single moms. It was a profound moment for him, and the relationships/ connections grew from there. Sometimes communication with at risk kids is extremely difficult. But I looked at them all like babies. Like they were mines. It changed my outlook on life and I know I was able to change the lives of many young men. This was a beautiful tutorial on how to treat at-risk young people. You should be teaching this around the nation.
