Yes, yes, yes Mrs. Ida! The Women’s March was a pat on the back for White women. But also a shift in focus when the Sista took the reigns.

Did you notice how when the Black woman comes to assume power of the march, there was all this “ close examination” of her ties with Farrakhan (which was petty to say the least and shows they have no understanding or respect for the complexities and history of the Black community — we are not a monolith) and then suddenly — White women and Jewish women passing as White needed to stay home because the Black lady was associated with Anti-antisemitism. Fuck the racism and segregation they’ve engaged in within the confines of the feminism movement, okay! It was classic and telling. Just another sign. Women of color are good enough to follow White women, never good enough to lead — they gotta be suspect of us — can’t trust we know what we’re doing. And goodness forbid we say something that true and offends because it’s insulting their fragility. Let them keep that shit then!

As soon as it’s time for the women of color to lead, White women can’t follow them. These types of women are as predictable as the sun rising and setting. I haven’t read that book by Ms. Sales, but I am making this year all about Black and Brown woman empowerment and equality for oppressed groups. Feminism is like the Oscars — so, so, white.

I write intelligent, unvarnished thoughts on anti-Blackness, racism, politics, Black people, and White Supremacy. White Fragility🚫|
