You know this is an extremely prophetic line whether you realize it or not. I think about how foolish kids are today. How old was Mark Zuckerburg when he created Facebook. He was a college kid. Anyone with kids no matter how book smart they are realize (hopefully) their kids are still dumb as rocks and don’t know anything about life unless they’ve lived some.
All college kids want to do is play and have fun, and like most kids they give no fucks about at whose expense. Zuckerberg created something for kids to play with.
Facebook was created by a college kid for college kids. It was never meant for grown folks. Facebook should have remained a kids toy, it should have never made it from being a sneaky little program used for college kids to communicate slanderous, salacious crap to becoming a global platform. It started out bad, it’s never been good. Somehow, we’ve forgotten at one point Facebook was the darkweb for college kids and sexual predators.
We’ve rewarded a socially awkward and emotionally unintelligent individual with wealth, riches, and notoriety he does not deserve. As you have said, we need to stop being so casual with our minds and our freedom, rewarding juveniles for creating bullshit for us to play with. These privileged kids (Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg) go on to egotistical, self-righteous adults who never pay for monsters and messes they’ve made.
It’s capitalism at its finest.
