You’re right blackness is extremely complex. Being ostracized could stem from a lot of things, not to include colorism within the black community.
I have been called weird for not being the status quo — always managed to keep my slang game pretty tight to avoid the “talking different” label. I’m sorry you had the “other” experience in the Black community. It is indeed one difficult place to learn to navigate. Thankfully my mom taught us early about duality to ensure we knew about Black culture including language. I have been able to help many folks with duality.
